What would you tell an artist considering attending a N.O.W. project?
- You'd be a fool...a damn fool to consider not going. If you do stuff like this all the time, you'll have a great time. However, if you have not done anything like this before, or it's been a long time, it might just change your whole outlook on your art and your life. Seriously.
- totally yes.
- Since every project is totally different, you may never know exactly what you'll be in for, but guarantee it'll be worth your time.
- come have a good time and create something at the same time
- ... it depends on what the artist is looking for and what N.O.W. decides to offer! But I think that everyone is met by a community that is welcoming, respectful, talented, and kind.
- Come to the project without any pre-conceived notions, willing to let go and embrace what you find when you arrive. Then, really EMBRACE it. Say yes, commit hard, and have fun with it.
- Forget about the money, the time, and all the excuses. Just show up. You'll thank yourself later.
What five words would you use to describe your experience of N.O.W. Hear This?

- Vibrational. Harmonic. Dissonant. Relaxed. Zeke.
- relaxing, entertaining, creative, thrilling, enjoyable
- Challenging, lush, surprising, ear-opening, jammin'.
- Fun. Invigorating. Encouraging. Community. Tasty!
- experiment, connection, stupid sleep, lucky
- Accessable. Amoebic. Vital. Inspirational. Ohana
How has this project affected you since your return home?
- I definitely noticed myself listening more... I'm sort of used to listening for things to eliminate, perceiving them as obstacles. I think I've been listening to things more for their own qualities instead.
- Just the act of participating in this project reawakened parts of myself that have been dormant for many years... I was already thinking about how to do something like this again, soon.
- I was calmer and quieter.
- I've been thinking about how much restrictions can help the creative process. Restricted forms give structure to creativity — the challenge is to pick really interesting restrictions.
- I still feel proud of the work we accomplished and I am happy and fulfilled since trying something new.
- can't wait to go to a thrift store with 20 bucks and come home with an army of sound. and then record the army.
