The Big Dig explores the creation of character. We were curious about what makes a fictional being seem real, and we wanted to root out the vast experiences that build a life. Which biographical details allow us to identify and emotionally connect with a character?

Further, we wanted to investigate the objects that people collect and keep throughout their lives. What inspires us to hold onto tangible reminders of our experiences? What meaning can we find in other people's keepsakes?
